GILI ECO TRUST

We have partnered up with Indonesian NGO Gili Eco Trust to help them in their mission to protect coral reefs from destructive fishing practices around the three Gili islands: Gili Air, Gili Meno and Gili Trawangan, off Lombok, Indonesia. We spend a lot of times on those islands and can’t help but notice how fast the underwater world is deteriorating…
The Gili Eco Trust has extended its activities to many other “Eco projects”. They regenerate and protect coral reefs, prevent soil and beach erosion, help clean up these three beautiful islands, educate and raise awareness of the population, organize garbage recycling and waste management, provide clinical care for the Island’s animals, and develop scientific research on coral reefs with universities. In 2004, the Biorock Technology was used for the first time in Gili thanks to Delphine Robbe, the coordinator of the NGO. More than 120 Biorock structures has been installed since this time around the Gili islands to restore and protect the coral reefs and there is no stopping now!
Keep up the good work guys! We need more of you in the world to save our depleting oceans…
